New Twitter Heart Breaks America’s
I’m going to be completely transparent with you here. This is how I feel about the new “like” feature on Twitter. In case you’ve been living far, far away riding your own star across the universe, Twitter changed their favorite feature “star” to a “heart.” Why? They claimed a heart brings a more profound cultural understanding to enjoying something. In their words, “You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite. OKAY, TWITTER. WE’VE GOT IT. Oh hey though, no one cares.
Gmail Get’s Conveniently Creepy
Aww, eureka! More proof machines truly are taking over the world. Have you heard? Soon, Gmail will be able to reply to your emails for you. How? They’re working through a form of artificial intelligence called “deep learning.” Yea, I know – the crickets in my head are singsonging like a late August night too. Essentially, email will eventually be able to analyze the contents in an email and format a quick, short response. Cool, so if anyone uses the term “synergy” or “millennials” or too many explanation points, Gmail will curate a response like this? I’m out of the office for the next month. TTYL.
Who’s Essena O’Neill?
She’s the one who quit social media. Back story: Essena spent a good chunk of her life making herself look perfect on social media. She curated a large social audience and claimed she would spend hours taking, editing and posting photos of herself. But now, she’s declaring social media is not real and makes her unhappy in a recent video. The twist: she’s now turning to VIMEO to encourage others to quit social media and live a vegan lifestyle to feel free. Wait, so you’re using social media to promote your site about not using social media? Color me confused. In her words? “I love Vimeo for it’s positive and value based ranking, not likes or followers or BS ads.”
Blah, it’s been a weird week. For your health, watch David Attenborough narrating the beginning of Adele’s music video.
The Big Hot Dog Debate: Sandwich or, no?
No, I didn’t just want another excuse to use the hot dog emoji. I couldn’t resist sharing the infamous “is the hot dog a sandwich” debate with the Buffalo Bills. Beyond this being a completely ridiculous topic, the debate is pulling our nation apart like a mozzarella stick, slowly…very slowly. Carly Fiorina can’t even weigh in completely. Oh ya, anyone ready for the weekend yet?? This is my cue.
