The Social Lights had the pleasure of participating in the Advanced Facebook Advertising Online Conference by Social Fresh. Since it’s an online conference, it’s technically still going on, but we were so excited to share our Top 10 list with you that we couldn’t wait until it was over.
10 Things We Learned:
- Crop the face for emotion
Since space is limited, show an individual’s eyes + mouth to bring out the emotion on their faces - Test dozens (or hundreds) of images
Some people test 100-200 images to find the perfect one! Like locating a needle in a haystack, but there’s nothing quite like finding the perfect one (plus, in the long run, your budget will thank you)! - Short and sweet
Keeping content short + sweet (yes, shorter than the already extreme character limit) is best - Be Weird
Disrupt. Be Loud. Sometimes a WTF headline performs best. Just try it. - No CTA
A low-budget strategy to build brand awareness. - Goals! Goals! Goals!
Set your goals, stick the them, check up on them, reach them. - Test. Retest. Refine. Rework.
Keep a close eye on your ads and keep rejiggering them until they are just right. - Don’t lose sight of self-identification
Trigger that Aha! moment in your target audience. - Integration
Organic, Social, Paid, Web, Follow-Up…it all links together! Remember that. - Do it! They work.
If you haven’t tried Facebook ads yet, do it! Start with a small budget, play around with them and see what they can do!
So, we realize this post is a bit vague. We didn’t want to give too much away, as this conference is comprised of paid attendees and a collection of top-tier experts. But next time you decide to run some Facebook ads, let us know! We’d be happy to put together some clever ideas for you.
