CreativeMornings/MSP with Nora McInerny Purmort

Date

The hottest ticket in town on Friday, December 18th wasn’t for a show at First Ave or even the Target Center. Three hundred creatives flocked to the Minneapolis Institute of Art to hear Nora McInerny Purmort speak about the subject of “time” as part of the CreativeMornings series.
If you aren’t familiar with Nora’s story, start here. It’s her blog, called My Husband’s Tumor, which she started after her boyfriend (soon husband) Aaron discovered that he had brain cancer. We wrote about Aaron and Nora (and their Cotton Bureau t-shirt campaign) last year. The t-shirt campaign has since evolved into Still Kickin, a non-profit business whose motto is “Help a Human Out”.

At CreativeMornings Nora talked about time and we listenedlaughing, nodding along, crying (admit it, you teared up a bit, especially at her #Ralphiegrams stories) and wholeheartedly agreeing with her sentiments on those signs you see in bulk on the shelves at T.J. Maxx.

As she spoke about time, Nora revealed her talent for choosing the perfect gif and dropped about a million little knowledge bombs. Here’s a few of our favorites in tweet form:

Can’t get enough? You’re not alone. Nora tweets at @noraborealis and just finished her first book, It’s Okay to Laugh: (Crying is Cool Too). Trust us on this one, you’ll want to secure your copy ASAP. Pre-order it now for delivery in May 2016.
Thanks to Nora for sharing her story and to CreativeMornings for organizing the event. We couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Friday morning.
