The #SFSummit Rewind: TSL heads to Austin

A couple weeks ago, we attended the Spredfast Summit, marking the third-consecutive year that we’ve made the trip to Austin, Texas. In recent years, the conference has become a Mecca for some of the brightest minds in social media, featuring keynotes from some of the most engaging presences in the digital space.

Why: To gain inspiration, swap strategies, and talk shop with the best and brightest in our field.
This year’s Summit featured presentations on ‘Being popular vs. Being influential,’ the power of social care, and why brands take stands. The takeaways are innumerable, and every year, similar to social media, the Summit features new, cutting edge materials, all rounding back to Spredfast’s core principles of innovation and depth.
Every year, the Summit attracts social media personnel from every corner of the industry, featuring marquee brands like Coca-Cola, Charles Schwab, and the NFL. The benefit of being in the same room as these companies and agencies is invaluable, but the one-to-one, peer-focused atmosphere is what fuels the conversation.
“Presenters aren’t holding back secrets or trying to sell you on a practice,” TSL co-founder Emily Pritchard said. “Attendees genuinely want to help one another, and that’s an atmosphere that you don’t get anywhere else. You’re not just getting the ‘what’ of what people accomplished. You’re also getting the ‘how’ and the ‘why’ because they want you to find the same success that they did.”
Attending the Summit in each of the past 3 years, we’ve not only been able to strengthen our relationships with representatives from other business, but also with the Spredfast team. Outside of the keynotes and presentations, the team-building activities range from yoga sessions to group-wide happy hours to all-you-can-eat taco dinners. This casual, peer-centered atmosphere is where relationships start, and it’s what keeps us, and many others, returning year after year.
