If you forgot, your Twitter feed reminded you. The Great Minnesota Get-Together kicked off yesterday and is complete with 40 new foods, 11 new frozen treats and 2 new rides on the Mighty Midway. Prepare to hear about all of the crazy foods indulged by your friends and co-workers over the next 12-day binge. Also, don’t get your feathers ruffled. The poultry exhibits have been canceled because of the bird flu outbreak. So that’s comforting.

New Bike Lane on Washington Ave
You may have gotten caught up in the ridiculous (and seemingly unannounced) road construction on Washington Avenue earlier this week. What do we have to show for being late to meetings and waiting through five stoplights to turn left onto 394? A beautiful new protected bike lane for MPLS cycling enthusiasts! This is the first completed project of the Bikeways for Everyone campaign. Well done, City of Minneapolis.

On Monday, 1 in 7 people on Earth used Facebook to connect with their friends and family. Mark Zuckerberg celebrated the milestone occasion by posting a heartwarming Facebook video. So pat yourself on the back if you logged into Facebook on Monday. You made history!
