It was beginning to look at LOT like Christmas on December 10 as The Social Lights and friends took to the streets of Uptown for a gathering full of holiday cheer!

The snowy streets proved no match for those determined to join us for Moonlighter Monday at the Green Mill on Hennepin, and share a delicious spread of pizza and wings. Of course, we were also excited to support the FINNEGANS “Drink Like You Care” Campaign to help feed hungry people in the community!

You may not know this, but Green Mill Uptown has a sweet banquet room that can be reserved for all sorts of occasions. This was the site of our festive feast.
FINNEGANS Irish Amber was the favorite drink of the night, not only because it’s a great beer, but because drinking it supports a great cause! Throughout the months of November and December, one pint of FINNEGANS equals one serving of fresh local produce for someone in need. We’ll drink to that!
After we had a few sips of FINNEGANS, we dug into Green Mill’s wings. You’ve probably heard about Green Mill’s award winning wings, but you really have to try them to get the full experience. There was also a tray of fresh veggies so we didn’t feel totally terrible about pigging out. Don’t get too full though…because pizza is on the way!

We were treated to a bevy of beautiful Green Mill pizzas, from their legendary deep dish, to the brand new Old World style crust. We ate and we ate and we ate, but still there was more pizza to be had, and more FINNEGANS to drink! Mariah Carey provided a quick caroling break as the festivities wound down. Food comas commenced, and it was sadly time for our gathering to end.

The Social Lights consider a successful party one with great people, great food, great drinks, and a great cause. We were able to check all of these off of our list with the help of FINNEGANS, Green Mill and our talented team of moonlighter and freelancer friends!
